The wound now marring the bark pulses with his own breath, crimson streams trickle down onto black-silver grass reflective in the dim light..."

A dark, surrealistic beginning to a sprawling tale of desire that is 'Shrieking Veins'. Blood and spite, guilt, and searing pain. This is tract 01, 'Infatuation and a Bleeding Set of Gums'.
